Business Careers for Women: Feminine Power Unleashed
© Fortune Live Media

Women have often been discriminated in work places and their gender has been a great deterrent in their climb up the corporate ladder. This has led to many discussions on the role of employers in forwarding business career options for women and breaking the glass ceiling. More and more women are increasingly making a successful business career for themselves and holding responsible positions as managers, overseers, employers and other professionals in this male dominated corporate world. The issues that arise very often against the promotion of business career of women are her domestic commitments, the non-traditional presence of women at the top and other gender related real problems that worry a man more than the lady herself.

I happened to chance on a book review of "Women in business" by two Ash bridge Business School professors, Viki Holtonand Fiona Elsa Dent. It navigates the business career success and highlights the best ways by which women can achieve success. The glass ceiling which has managed to keep women who are successful business careers, still out of the boardroom so far , is under the weight of public opinion and threatened legislations. In times when business career options for women are reaching newer heights, this book is indeed very timely.

Women have always been known to be very hard workers, irrespective of their positions in a business career or domestic environment. It is high time that the underestimation of women in business circles took a backseat. Watch out Employers: Girl power is on it's way!

© BANAMINE

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing social networks on the internet, almost as popular as the social networking engine Facebook. It is also an excellent search engine which can be used by people to seek out the best jobs for themselves. It is an ideal platform now for a business career. Initially, Pinterest was nothing but one addictive platform that had been used by ladies for the purpose of posting articles about recipes, fashion and interior designing. Now companies have decided to make use of this social networking site for the purpose of recruiting individuals to their organizations. As a result, it has been transformed into a site for promoting business career. The amount of employment oriented traffic which Pinterest has generated is a lot more than that of Google, Linkedin, MySpace and Reddit.

Erica Swallow, who is a regular contributor to Pinterest has however issued the warning, that one should not seek out jobs on this social networking site unless he or she has a well planned strategy in mind. By this she mostly means marketing content which is free and which is visually stimulating. This is especially important as the target audience of the site is mature female consumers.
